DLOC Regional and Participation Events

This web page lists events at the branch level within the Club, and events that DLOC members are attending either as a small group or as a collection of individuals, such as joint meetings with other marques' clubs.

A different web page "DLOC Club Events", lists major events of above-regional interest, where our clubs are the organisers and the single participants. That page also lists events where our club has "big presence" with a Club Stand, plus a named coordinator on behalf of the Club.

Although events may be organised at a regional level, they are always a good occasion for any club member to see new cars and meet new people!

Even if you are not a club member yet, an interest in Daimlers, Lanchesters or BSA cars is sufficient to be made very welcome at these events and give yourself a chance to get infected with the club-bug. Contact the organiser, and come along. That's how most of us started. The Dutch proverb "a shared joy is a double joy" describes very well what to expect when you approach Club members about their car hobby.

If you want an event to be listed on the site, please contact the web master. If you are thinking about organising an event, or looking to generate DLOC-activity in your own region, feel free to use this page as a contact point.

Note that the club's forum has a separate Event Calendar to announce general events.

Surrey Branch V Engine Day

DATE: Sunday 14th September 2008
VENUE: Mercedes Benz World
Brooklands, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 0YQ, UK
TIME: 11.00am
COST: free

All welcome, especially V engined vehicles

The V engine Day has been running for about 20 years. It was originally restricted to Daimler V engine cars, but was opened up, about 8 years ago, to other clubs with V engined cars. A wide variety attended in the past - many American V8s a V12 American fire engine, Mercedes, Maserati, RR/Bentley, Aston Martin and Jaguar all with V engines. Up to 45 cars have attended.

It is a static rally, which is why an interesting venue is chosen. In the past, we have been to Greenwich Park, Blue Bell Steam Railway and many country estates. And this year we go to:

Mercedes Benz World, Brooklands

Mercedes Benz World is unique in that it is part museum, part car showroom, but also has a very good restaurant, a kids laboratory, and driving experiences in the latest MB cars on their test track/skidpan. A good fun day out.
